Stylish, elegant wedding photograph from Paris

I was going through some of our wedding photographs this morning. I just stopped on this particular one which I like quite a lot. It very much represents some of the things that i love, photographing weddings. It is a simple posed portrait of a couple who just got married. Simple yes but the photos speaks a thousand words.

I am so glad I took it ! You have to be proud of your work, don’t you?

Off to Italy for a wedding next week. i am so impatient that my bag is ready, all packed! Family is in New York and i have a few more days to finish up on my duties. Just time to share a few of the retouched photos of my last wedding of an exquisite destination wedding at the chateau de Changy.

Classic 50′s wedding album

I have always gone for simple, classic, natural & elegant wedding style images and have always had in my mind the photographs of jackie kennedy’s wedding. The photograph of Jackie amid the Kennedy’s men is an all time classic iconic wedding image that drew me to direct my photographic career towards photographing elegant weddings. Fashion and style have evolved those past 50 years but those iconic photographs remain as being simply beautiful in my mind. We were lucky enough to photograph such a wedding in the Scenic Pennsylvania Countryside. We produced this classic wedding album made of a tight selection of some 30 5X7in black and white size images with a gorgeous rustic brown cowhide leather which could have come straight from the magnificent 50′s.
Call me old fashion … I love it !

This is the reason why we LOVE super 8mm video. A real beauty ! Later on, there were times she was more famous than her president– JFK introduced himself to an audience in France as “The man who accompanied Jacqueline Kennedy to Paris.”

Retouching your fabulous wedding images

We photographed the wedding of Sharon and Fred a little while back in the Loire vallee. Sharon had asked us to retouch a selection of her wedding photographs. The theme was château-chic. The colors gold, pink and ivory. By the way, the event was beautifully orchestrated by Anne at Fête in France. We aimed at enhancing the photographs to complement the theme of the day with some warm colors, grainy images, black and white and toned photographs.
Here is a little selection of the many beautiful images that we shot during that day. We always make sure that our clients are 100% happy and more. We provide high quality, customized services to fulfill your high expectations. We listen to our brides and we do our best to satisfy your wishes.
Here is our reward; a few words we have just received from Sharon, one of our bride.
“… Hi Olivier,
Fred and I received the video and watched it last night and we loved it! I especially liked the vintage look of some of the film and the way you integrated photos into it. And I really liked the music you chose for the preparation portion. My mother says she has watched the version on your blog 10 times and can’t wait for the full version to arrive.
I looked at the first selection of photos, they all look great, and I like that you did a number of different looks. I think my favorites are the ones with the vintage look/muted colors or black and white, although I really like the ones with the vivid colors too. Feel free to be as make them as artistic as you’d like (as opposed to realistic looking).
My mom asked to make sure you include a couple pictures with Fred’s parents in them, as well as one of me and my dad walking down the aisle (there is one with an ugly light pole in the background that she would like removed if you work on that one).

A few photographs of one of our Classic wedding album.Our wedding albums are available in a range of sumptuous leathers. They are all custom made and designed to be passed on to the next generation. We select them for their beauty and durability, to stand the test of time.This particular sample has a beautiful black lizard leather cover with a 4×6 cover outset photograph. Gilding or overlay on edge of pages are available in gold, black or silver in this instance. The prints are pre trimmed to fit custom made mats. The mats or frames come in various colors from white to off white, grey or black, brown or charcoal. The liner or the thin line that goes around the photograph is available in gold, silver, white, ebony as well.

When I meet a client, I would usually recommend that they go to my photographic website ” WeddingLight “and study my work because images speak a thousand words! If a client ask what differentiate our company from the photographer next door, i would suggest again that the client sits and study both work via the photographers website.
In a few words though, as those images illustrate, my photography is about Love, the love of my craft. Charlie and James, a few natural & classic portraits taken at the Chateau de la Couronne on their wedding day. What can I say ! It was very nice; lots of laughters, happy friends and sweet families. Everyone were just wonderful and it was a pleasure to be part of this beautiful wedding.

Charlie and the Girls getting ready for a beautiful wedding day in the Dordogne region, in France. It was real nice to spend the day at the Chateau de la Couronne once more. A truly chic boutique hotel, the chateau has huge rooms designed with stunning contemporary interiors fusing original features, design icons from the 60s and 70s, specially commissioned pieces and original artworks. A wonderful boutique hotel hosted by truly amazingly nice Nicky and Mark.
If you are looking for a quiet & stylish retreat in the Dordogne region this summer, it is definitely the right choice.

pre wedding portraits in Paris

A selected few pre-wedding portraits taken in Paris with Jannie and Ben from Hong Kong. The weather for once was not collaborating, very unpredictable and it rained for most of the afternoon. We had to use and abuse of a couple of trendy looking umbrellas borrowed from the Georges V and off we went to tackle the streets of Paris. Jannie and Ben were a bit on the shy side. Florent, my assistant was a great help. Afterwards he complemented my “coolness”, professionalism and was a bit surprised at how many photos came out considering the lack of sun.
I Love my assistant!
We all had a nice afternoon though. The photos are natural. Jannie and Ben are happy, at ease, enjoying the moment. We have just sent out to our client two DVD’s with 1.000 high quality files, color corrected and ready to print. Florent learnt that nothing beats 20 years of photographic experience to get the job done.
